Ankara-bound lanes on the Anatolian Motorway closed to traffic
Traffic is currently blocked in the direction of Ankara on the Kocaeli section of the Anatolian Motorway after a semi-truck's raised trailer bed struck an overhead sign.
In the vicinity of the Körfez toll booths, the trailer bed of a semi-truck, whose driver and license plate have not yet been identified, remained in an open position and struck an electronic traffic sign.
The impact caused the sign to collapse onto the road. Upon notification by bystanders, police, medical, fire, and highway crews were dispatched to the scene.
Due to the accident, the Ankara-bound lanes of the motorway have been closed to traffic. Crews are currently working to remove the trailer and the sign that fell onto the road.
