Another animal massacre in Edirne: Dog carcasses found in sacks

As reports of animal massacres continue to arrive from across Turkey following the enactment of the Law on Amendments to the Animal Protection Law, 10-15 dog carcasses were found stuffed into sacks in Edirne.

Approximately 10-15 dog carcasses were found dumped in sacks at the landfill in the Uzunköprü district of Edirne.

In a statement issued by the Uzunköprü Municipality, it was stated, "As the Uzunköprü Municipality, we inform the public that we have filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding those who committed this heinous act and that the perpetrators will be held accountable before the law."

According to allegations, approximately 10-15 dogs, which had been dumped in sacks at the landfill in the Uzunköprü district of Edirne, were recorded by a citizen using a mobile phone camera.

The dogs, which were stated to have been killed and placed in sacks, sparked reactions on social media.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY

Following the amendment to the Animal Rights Law, killed stray dogs had also been found in Niğde and the Altındağ district of Ankara.
