Another blow to Hezbollah: Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Qubaisi killed in Israeli strike

Israel is continuing the airstrikes it launched against Lebanon yesterday.

As a result of yesterday's large-scale bombardments, 558 people, including 35 children, lost their lives in Lebanon. The number of injured was reported as at least 1,024.

The Israeli military launched a new attack on southern Lebanon and Beirut today.

In a statement, the Israeli military reported that its fighter jets struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.

Army radio announced that the aircraft dropped approximately 2,000 rocket munitions on 1,500 targets.

75 ROCKETS FIRED AT NORTHERN ISRAEL

Hezbollah, in turn, responded to the attacks by striking the city of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel.

Israeli army radio reported that the rockets fired from Lebanon caused a fire in a warehouse and that six firefighting teams were responding to the blaze.

The Israeli military announced that 75 rockets had been fired from Lebanon into northern Israel since the early hours.

The statement noted that numerous fires broke out in the north of the country and buildings were damaged.

It was reported that the rockets arrived throughout the morning in five barrages, the largest of which contained 50 rockets and was fired toward the Upper Galilee region.

The army announced that the launchers from which the rockets were fired had been struck.

IBRAHIM QUBAISI KILLED

Israeli Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi stated that Hezbollah "should not be given any respite" and that attacks would be accelerated. Halevi said, "The situation requires constant and intense action in all areas."

In a statement released by the military in the following hours, it was announced that a new attack had been carried out on the capital, Beirut.  

According to a report by Reuters citing two security sources, Israel targeted a Hezbollah commander in Beirut. 

Security sources reported that Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Qubaisi was killed in the attack.  

It was stated that Qubaisi was the leader of the organization's rocket unit.
