Another metro line is coming to Istanbul

Making a statement regarding the Bakırköy-Kirazlı Metro Line, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, "We will experience the joy of bringing another new metro line to Istanbul by opening our project to service in a very short time."

Another metro line is coming to Istanbul

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu provided information regarding the work on the Bakırköy-Kirazlı Metro Line in a written statement.

Stating that the line is 8.4 kilometers long and consists of 7 stations, Uraloğlu reported that the metro will travel at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour and carry 1 million passengers per day.

Uraloğlu noted that they have reached the final stage of construction work and that the line will be opened soon.

Uraloğlu stated, "We have completed 13.3 kilometers of TBM production and a total of 16.9 kilometers of tunnel excavation, including 3.6 kilometers using the classic tunneling method, and completed the installation of 17 kilometers of railway tracks in total. In this context, we have finished the construction of 105 thousand square meters of closed area across 7 stations."

Uraloğlu continued his words as follows;

"Testing and commissioning work on the Bakırköy-Kirazlı Metro Line has reached the final stage. Following the Gayrettepe-Kağıthane connection of the Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Metro Line and the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System and Pedestrian-Oriented New Generation Transportation Project, we are bringing a new rail system line to Istanbul. We will strengthen Istanbul's transportation network with the Bakırköy-Kirazlı Metro Line. We will experience the joy of bringing another new metro line to Istanbul by opening our project to service in a very short time."

Providing information that the metro line, which will start from Bakırköy, consists of the Özgürlük Meydanı, İncirli, Haznedar, İlkyuva, Yıldıztepe, Molla Gürani, and Kirazlı stations, Uraloğlu reported that the line will be integrated with the Başakşehir-Kirazlı Line at the Kirazlı Station, with the Metrobus and the Aksaray-Atatürk Airport Metro Line at the İncirli Station, with Marmaray at the Özgürlük Meydanı Station, and with İDO sea buses at the Bakırköy Station.

TRANSPORTATION TIME WILL BE REDUCED

Uraloğlu stated that the metro line will provide travel opportunities in 39 minutes between Kayaşehir and Bakırköy İDO, 31 minutes on the Çam and Sakura City Hospital-İncirli section, 27 minutes on the Kayaşehir-Kirazlı line, and 30 minutes on the Metrokent-Özgürlük Meydanı section.
