Another military area opened for development: Reserve building area
A military site in Tuzla, Istanbul, has been designated as a "Reserve building area." It was also noted that the area opened for development falls within the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Obstacle Limitation Plan.
Approximately 185 hectares of land belonging to the Infantry School Command in the Aydınlı neighborhood of Tuzla was designated as a "Reserve building area" on September 23, 2024.
The zoning plan prepared by TOKİ for this area has also been published by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
According to a report by İsmail Arı from BirGün, the military land in Tuzla, Istanbul, has been opened for development by the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ).
It was also stated that the area opened for development remains within the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Obstacle Limitation Plan.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation provided its opinion to TOKİ, stating: "In the planned works, it is necessary to comply with the criteria and plan notes of the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Obstacle Limitation Plan, and for the region remaining in the natural obstacle area, planning must be done so that the height, including all kinds of appurtenances such as roofs, chimneys, and antennas, does not exceed 6.5 meters from the ground."
