Another 'nationality surcharge' scandal! That hotel was also fined

Limak Lara Deluxe Hotel had previously been exposed for charging an additional fee under the name of a 'nationality surcharge' to a customer who had made a reservation through a UK-based website because it was cheaper.

After the issue became a trending topic on social media, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism took action and imposed a fine on the business in question.

While the incident was still making headlines, another 'nationality surcharge' case emerged from a hotel called Royal Holiday Palace.

H.D., who was on a 3-day vacation in Antalya, shared on social media that the Royal Holiday Palace hotel had charged them a 450 Euro fee, citing a 'nationality surcharge,' prompting the Ministry to intervene in the matter.

According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched an investigation into the Royal Holiday Palace. As a result of the investigation, the hotel was fined, and the surcharge paid by the customer was refunded.
