İYİ Party Küçükçekmece District Chair Fatma Çolak has resigned from her post and the party.
İYİ Party Küçükçekmece District Chair Fatma Çolak has resigned from the position she held for five years and from her party. Following the announcement that the İYİ Party would compete with its own candidates in all 81 provinces for the March 31 elections, the turmoil within the party shows no signs of settling.
In addition to mass resignations among the party's organizations and council members in many provinces, several deputies who entered Parliament in the May 14 elections have also announced their departure from the İYİ Party.
According to a report by Sözcü, İYİ Party Küçükçekmece District Chair Fatma Çolak announced her resignation from the party in a letter sent to the İYİ Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency. In her letter, Çolak stated the following:
"I have decided to resign as of 02.02.2024 due to reasons I have deemed necessary, having been a founder of the Küçükçekmece District organization and having served as the Küçükçekmece District Chair since 02.05.2018. I submit this for your information."
