Appointment made to replace detained Ankara Deputy Police Chief

While the secret witness crisis, which has caused significant developments in politics one after another, continues, an important appointment has been made at the Ankara Police Department.

According to information obtained by T24, Yavuz Doğan, who was appointed as the Ankara Deputy Police Chief to replace Murat Çelik, who was detained due to his involvement in the scandal, began his new role yesterday as the official responsible for the Organized Crime Division.

Doğan had previously served as the Ankara Deputy Police Chief responsible for Esenboğa Airport after the current Police Chief Engin Dinç took office.

Meanwhile, no appointment has been made to replace Branch Manager Kerem Öner, who was also detained and subsequently released as part of the same investigation.

It was stated that Doğan has been brought into the role with "full authority" as part of the new process.

ANKARA POLICE CHIEF DİNÇ REMAINS IN OFFICE

On the other hand, it has been learned that Ankara Police Chief Engin Dinç, who was reported to be dismissed due to the scandal that erupted, will continue in his post for some time longer.

According to information reflected in police circles, reports had surfaced in the public eye that Dinç would be removed from office following the detention of a total of five police officers, primarily his own deputy, Çelik.

However, with the latest developments, it has been learned that Dinç will remain in his current position until the investigation is completed.
