Appointment to the Deputy Chairmanship of the Presidential Health Policies Board

It has been decided that Topaloğlu, who also serves as the Chief Advisor to the President on Health Policies, will be reappointed as the Deputy Chair of the Health Policies Board.

Graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1996, Topaloğlu completed his residency training at the Cardiology Clinic of the Türkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hospital in 2001.

Topaloğlu received the title of associate professor in 2007 and professor in 2013. Having received training on the treatment of heart rhythm disorders at Maastricht University in the Netherlands in 2005, Topaloğlu served as a member of the Executive Board of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) Scientist Support Programs Department (BİDEB) for 3 years.

Currently serving as the Head of the Arrhythmia Clinic—the first accredited center of excellence in Türkiye—at the University of Health Sciences Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, Cardiovascular Hospital, Topaloğlu has around 300 articles published nationally and internationally.

Topaloğlu was appointed by President Erdoğan as the Deputy Chair of the Presidential Health and Food Policies Board on October 9, 2018.

During this period, Topaloğlu, who chaired the preparation of strategy and policy documents in areas such as the development of health technologies, the establishment of health valleys, the strengthening of primary healthcare services, and the fight against addiction, is also a member of the High Board for the Fight Against Addiction.

Prof. Dr. Topaloğlu is married and a father of 2 children.
