Ara Güler commemorated at his graveside
The doyen of photography and master photojournalist Ara Güler was commemorated at his graveside in the Şişli Armenian Cemetery on the 6th anniversary of his passing.
The event was attended by Güler's assistant Fatih Aslan, his goddaughter İpek Aslan, his close friend Dayk Miricanyan, Prof. Ozan Bilgiseren, Gülnur Cengiz, Tanın Helvacı, and his admirers.
Following the ceremony, where prayers were recited and hymns were sung at the artist's graveside, bitter almond cookies were served to the attendees in memory of Ara Güler.
To commemorate Ara Güler, a screening of the "Ara Güler Documentary" will also be held this evening at the Atlas Cinema, followed by a talk featuring Okan Bayülgen and Coşkun Aral.
