Are wedding convoys being abolished? Application submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Petition Commission, which reviews citizens' petitions and complaints, received 13 thousand applications between May and November. Among the requests was a demand for the banning of wedding convoys.
Between May and November, 13 thousand applications were submitted to the Petition Commission at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Among the requests submitted in the recent period were some interesting petitions. A female employee in Istanbul requested that the daily working hours of working mothers be reduced until their children reach school age and that maternity leave be extended.
Another notable request included a demand for deductions to be made from the salaries of civil servants to provide funding for the treatment of children with SMA.
Among the petitions, which included numerous applications regarding amnesty regulations for convicts, transfer requests from inmates in prisons, and requests for regulations in economic areas, there were also demands for granting green passports to computer engineers, increasing administrative fines for vehicles using modified exhausts that cause noise levels disturbing to the public, counting one year worked by disabled individuals as two years, and applying the law of retaliation (qisas) in the investigation regarding the "Newborn Gang."

BANNING OF WEDDING CONVOYS REQUESTED
Among the notable applications was a request to ban wedding convoys, which have frequently endangered the safety of citizens in recent years. Some of the notable requests submitted to the TBMM Petition Commission were as follows:
-Requiring members of parliament to be at least university graduates
-Allowing smoking in indoor areas
-Lowering the voting age to 16
-Banning social media platforms
-Reintroducing prepaid mobile lines for sale
-Exempting married couples from the international departure tax
