A large crowd gathered at the Karacaahmet Cemetery in Istanbul following the decision to exhume the grave of Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, a former Minister of Transport and leader of the Süleymancılar community.

 

 

It was stated that the file regarding the death of Denizolgun, who passed away in 2016, has been brought back to the investigation agenda years later, and that his grave would be exhumed as part of this process. After the decision was announced, numerous members of the community went to Karacaahmet Cemetery throughout the day and gathered around the grave.

Those who came to the gravesite recited prayers. While it was learned that the exhumation process is expected to take place in the morning hours, a large group was seen continuing their vigil at the cemetery before the procedure.

Arif Ahmet Denizolgun was known for his identity as an architect as well as his roles as a member of parliament and Minister of Transport. The fact that the file has returned to the agenda years after Denizolgun's passing caused community members to gather at the cemetery.

In the process that continued with the arrest of Alihan Kuriş, the leader of the Süleymancılar, allegations regarding the death of former Minister of Transport Arif Ahmet Denizolgun were brought back to the agenda.
