Arınç supports Bahçeli's call for Öcalan and Demirtaş! Notable remarks on Erdoğan...
Bülent Arınç, who supported the statements of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli calling for the 'right to hope' for PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan and for the release of Selahattin Demirtaş, stated, 'I hope that along with the names he mentioned, many others who are still in prison due to their political thoughts, ideas, and actions will regain their freedom as soon as possible. Erdoğan is no less just than Mr. Bahçeli.'
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli made striking statements yesterday (February 3) at his party's parliamentary group meeting. Bahçeli, the architect of the second opening process called 'Turkey without Terrorism,' reiterated his call for the 'right to hope' for Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, which he had voiced at the very beginning of the process.
At the end of his speech, Bahçeli said, "Our decision is clear until Anatolia returns to peace, Öcalan to hope, the Ahmets to their positions, and Demirtaş to his home."
While Bahçeli's statements dominated the agenda, support for the call came from former Parliament Speaker Bülent Arınç.
Sharing on his X account, Arınç stated, "I listened to the speech Mr. Devlet Bahçeli made at the group meeting today with great interest and appreciation. I sincerely congratulate him."
Arınç included the following statements in his announcement:
"I listened to the speech Mr. Devlet Bahçeli made at the group meeting today with great interest and appreciation. I sincerely congratulate him. I hope that along with the names he mentioned, many others who are still in prison due to their political thoughts, ideas, and actions will regain their freedom as soon as possible.
While listening to Mr. Bahçeli, a parable that explains how important it is to be fair and to rule with justice in our faith came to mind, and I wanted to share it with you.
Referring to this parable, I want to say that our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with whom I have been a companion and fellow traveler since 1978, is no less just than Mr. Bahçeli. Caliph Umar and Anushirvan were peerless examples of justice. I believe that Mr. Erdoğan and Mr. Bahçeli will also be the two best examples of this in the near future."
