Armağan Çağlayan comments on 'diploma cancellation' in his capacity as a lawyer
Armağan Çağlayan commented on the decision to cancel the diploma of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in his capacity as a lawyer.
Following the cancellation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's diploma, legal experts continue to issue statements declaring the decision incorrect, and one of the figures who looked at the issue from a legal perspective was Armağan Çağlayan.
Armağan Çağlayan, who is a lawyer in addition to his media personality, commented on the diploma cancellation decision regarding Ekrem İmamoğlu in a post on his social media account.
Stating that the justification for the decision does not comply with any administrative law norms, Çağlayan made the following post:
"The justification for the decision does not comply with any administrative law norm I have read. Because the 'clear error' was made by a state institution. That is, Istanbul University. A vested right cannot be cancelled due to a 'clear error' made by the university. It is contrary to the concept of 'vested right,' which is the most fundamental principle of administrative law. A long 'administrative law' case and process await Turkey."
