Armed attack had been carried out on Minister Yerlikaya's doctor: Released at the first hearing

Cüneyt Yakut, who was being tried on charges of committing crimes of plunder and attempted murder against Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya's doctor, Ali Kerim Diler, and some business people, and who was accused of being a 'criminal organization leader', has been released.

According to the report by Can Bursalı from Gazete Duvar, an armed attack was carried out on Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya's doctor, Ali Kerim Diler, at the end of 2023. It was revealed that the attack was orchestrated by Ahmet Yakut, a relative of Muhammet Yakut—who has made headlines with the videos he published—and his son, Cüneyt Yakut.

In an ambient recording made during the investigation phase, Ahmet Yakut uses the following expressions in a conversation with one of the defendants, S.K.:

'I HAD THE DOCTOR SHOT 20 DAYS AGO'

"I had the doctor shot just 20 days ago. He was a friend of the Minister, the Interior Minister. They caught three people from our side."

The attack Yakut referred to was carried out on December 9, 2023, against Ali Kerim Diler, a friend and doctor of Minister Yerlikaya. In the conversations reflected in the ambient recording, Yakut also says the following about Minister Yerlikaya:

'THE MINISTER WAS ANGRY AT THE POLICE CHIEF'

"They couldn't find me. The Minister was angry at the Police Chief. 'Find the power behind them, you scoundrels.' I did it so solidly, it's over."

The indictment included the finding that Ahmet Yakut and Cüneyt Yakut had commissioned the organized crime group known publicly as the "Redkits" to carry out an armed action against Ali Kerim Diler, through the defendant Mehmet Nesim Eren.

9 RELEASED AT THE FIRST HEARING

The indictment stated that in his testimony, Diler said that after he was beaten in an incident staged as an accident on November 23, 2022, he transferred the business he was a partner in and paid off the debts, but Cüneyt and Ahmet Yakut continued to demand money through threats.

At the first hearing of the case on September 11, 9 people, including Cüneyt Yakut, who was alleged to be the leader of the organization, were released.

The reason for the release was cited as the "possibility of a change in the nature of the crime."

The next hearing of the case will be held on December 11.
