Armed attack on union president by boss's brother: Suspect apprehended

The brother of the owner of Akar Tekstil, which operates in the İzmir Çiğli Organized Industrial Zone, carried out an armed attack on workers.
It was learned that DERİTEKS President Makum Alagöz was wounded as a result of the attack.
It emerged that Onur Akar, the brother of Akar Tekstil owner Hayrettin Akar, who began moving machinery out of the factory after the firm declared concordat, carried out the armed attack on the union delegation he had been meeting with regarding the workers' unpaid wages and social rights, and had seated in the cafeteria.
Alagöz was wounded in the attack. It was reported that Alagöz, who was taken to the hospital, is in good condition.
The suspect was taken into custody by teams from the İzmir Public Security Branch Office's Homicide Bureau.
