Armed attack targeted businessman and his wife: Driver killed, one person detained
A week ago in Istanbul, motorcycle-riding assailants opened fire on a vehicle carrying businessman Hakan Cengiz and his wife, Zehra Cengiz. While the Cengiz couple escaped the attack unharmed, the businessman's driver, Muhammet Yaşar, lost his life. One person has been detained in connection with the incident.

The incident occurred a week ago on the route toward the Mahmutbey toll booths. An armed attack was carried out by a person on a motorcycle against the vehicle in which businessman Hakan Cengiz and his wife, Zehra Cengiz, were traveling.
DRIVER DIED
While the Cengiz couple escaped the attack without injury, the driver, Muhammet Yaşar, was wounded. Yaşar, who was critically injured, passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment. A large-scale investigation was launched following the incident.
ONE SUSPECT APPREHENDED
Police teams, taking action after the incident, began efforts to identify the assailant. One person has been detained as part of the investigation initiated by the Organized Crime Branch. The interrogation of the suspect, who was taken to the police station, is ongoing.
