In Antalya, detention procedures were carried out for a large number of people, including businesspeople, as part of an investigation conducted into the municipality's subsidiary company, ANSET. A total of 34 people were issued detention warrants in the operation launched upon the instructions of the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. 27 of these individuals were taken into custody by security forces.
While it was stated that operations are ongoing to locate the 3 individuals who could not be apprehended, information was shared that two of the suspects are abroad and two are currently in prison. Among those mentioned in the investigation are former Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who was suspended and arrested due to allegations of 'bribery' and 'extortion', and the Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General and former ANSET manager C.T., who is currently undergoing treatment.
According to the allegations, the charges against them include 'rigging tenders', 'taking bribes', and 'money laundering'. During the examinations, it was stated that money flows were detected for the purpose of laundering proceeds from crime, and that the public was caused a total loss of 113 million 426 thousand liras.
The 27 suspects, who were referred to the courthouse in the morning after their procedures at the police station were completed, were brought before the duty judge after their statements at the prosecutor's office. ANSET Administrative and Financial Affairs Manager Aydil Nalan B., ANSET Manager Vahdet N., Head of City History, Promotion and Tourism Department İsmail O., as well as Alper A., Göktuğ K., Hüseyin K., İlknur Ö., and businesspeople Mehmet Okan K., Abdulkadir K., Levent Ş., İsa K., Aziz S., Cevdet M., and Hatice V. were arrested and sent to prison. While 11 of the detained individuals were released, judicial control conditions were applied to 2 suspects.
