Arrest made in 'child assault and abuse' investigation at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality daycare
One suspect has been arrested by the duty magistrate in an investigation into allegations of 'child assault and sexual abuse' at a daycare center affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) in Eyüpsultan.
As part of an investigation conducted by the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into allegations that a child was assaulted and abused at the Yuvamız İstanbul daycare center, which is affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), in Eyüpsultan in December 2025, suspects Ö.D., E.A., E.A., and B.Z. were referred to the courthouse following their processing at the police station.
Suspect Ö.D., who gave a statement to the prosecutor's office, was subsequently arrested by the duty magistrate on charges of 'qualified sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12'.
The other 3 suspects were released under judicial control measures, including a 'travel ban' and a requirement to 'report to authorities'.
