Arrest made in attack in front of Israeli Consulate General

Ahmet İmrak, who was injured in the armed attack in front of the plaza housing the Israeli Consulate and had been receiving treatment in the hospital, has been arrested.

During the armed attack on a police checkpoint in front of the plaza where the Israeli Consulate is located on April 7 and the subsequent clash, 2 police officers were slightly injured, 1 suspect was killed, and 2 attackers were wounded. One of the wounded, Onur Çelik, was referred to the courthouse after being discharged and was arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace to which he was referred.

Within the scope of the investigation launched after the incident, 18 suspects were detained in operations. Of the 12 suspects referred to the courthouse on April 11 following their procedures at the Police Department, 9 were arrested by the judgeship. Of the other 3 suspects, 1 was released after procedures at the prosecutor's office, while 2 were released under judicial control conditions.

Finally, an arrest warrant was issued for Ahmet İmrak, who was receiving treatment in the hospital. With İmrak also being discharged following Çelik, there is no one left receiving treatment in the hospital.

A total of 14 people have been arrested within the scope of the investigation.
