LGBTI+ activist İris Mozalar, who was detained during the 23rd Feminist Night March, has been referred to the judgeship with a request for arrest on charges of "insulting the President" and "violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911."
On International Women's Day, March 8, women and LGBTI+ individuals gathered on Sıraselviler Street for the 23rd Feminist Night March despite police obstacles and bans. As a result of the protesters' persistence, the police allowed the women to march from Sıraselviler Street to Cihangir. After the demonstration, as the women and LGBTI+ individuals began to disperse, the police blockaded them at the intersection of Cihangir Street and Susam Street. 112 people were detained within the blockade, which involved approximately 200 people.
According to the report by Can Öztürk from T24, while 111 of the detained individuals were released, LGBTI+ activist İris Mozalar was referred to the 3rd Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for arrest without her statement being taken by the prosecutor's office.
