A detention order had been issued for retired Colonel Orkun Özeller.
Upon learning of the detention order, Özeller went to the courthouse in Ordu on his own.
It was stated that the charge brought against Özeller is 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility,' specifically regarding the expressions he used toward MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.
Özeller had previously announced that he was subjected to insults and threats on social media following his remarks about Bahçeli.
