Arrest warrants issued for individuals released in ABB concert spending case

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued arrest warrants for 3 of the 14 defendants who were released during the trial concerning the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality's (ABB) concert expenditures between 2021 and 2024.

In the latest hearing at the Ankara 34th High Criminal Court, which is overseeing the case regarding ABB's concert expenditures, it was decided that 5 defendants held in custody would be released under judicial control measures.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, following the release of the defendants, filed an objection with the Ankara 35th HighCriminal Court.

Evaluating the objection, the Ankara 35th High Criminal Court ruled that defendants Selahattin Çelikkaya, Onur Evren, and HacıAli Bozkurt should be remanded in custody once again.

Arrest warrants were issued for the defendantsarrest warrant forthe issued.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the indictment prepared by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality's (ABB) 2021-2024 pconcert expenditures during the periodfollowing allegations that they "caused public loss" an investigationwas launched.

In the concert and technical service procurements carried out bythe ABBand the Department of Social Services, payments were made that were not in accordance withmarket price rates.alleged to have caused publicfinancial loss, the indictment states that Ministryof InteriorinspectorsAccording to the report prepared by the inspectorsand the expert report dated September 17, 2025,it was determined that during the 2021-2024period, for the 32 concert serviceprocurements carried out,the contractor firms were paidabove market value.It was noted that they were involved and thus provided an unfair gain totaling 154 million 453 thousand 221 Turkish Lira.
