Journalist Cem Küçük, who is close to the government, was detained by teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of "publicly disseminating misleading information" and "blackmail," and was referred to the courthouse following his processing.

A decision was made to arrest Küçük after he gave his statement to the duty magistrate judge.

HE DID NOT SHARE HIS PHONE PASSWORD IN HIS STATEMENT

Cem Küçük, who gave his statement to the prosecutor as part of the investigation, stated that he works as a commentator on television programs.

While a request was made to examine his mobile phone during the statement process, it was learned that Küçük declared he did not want to provide his phone's password.

PAST STATEMENTS RESURFACE

Cem Küçük's refusal to share his phone password as part of the investigation has brought his previous statements on television screens back to the agenda.

In his statements that have begun circulating on social media again, Küçük had used the following expressions:

"Those who trust themselves should provide their password. If you are accused of bribery, if you are accused of a major incident, you open it and say I have nothing to hide. For example, let the prosecutor come and take my phone."
