Arrested for murder 11 years ago: Killed by his father-in-law at the house where he went to see his child

In an incident that occurred yesterday around 19:00 on 6. Dağ Street in the Maksem neighborhood of Osmangazi, Bursa, 34-year-old Kadir Morkoç, who had 12 prior police records, had been living apart from his wife, who is in the process of divorcing him, for 2 months. Morkoç arrived at the home of his father-in-law, Mehmet Ali Sakin, where his wife was staying, to see his child yesterday evening. Although he knocked on the door, he was not let in. While Morkoç began shouting, his father-in-law, Mehmet Ali Sakin, fired a hail of bullets at him from inside the house.

STRUCK BY 5 BULLETS

Kadir Morkoç, who was struck by 5 bullets in various parts of his body during the incident, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken. Mehmet Ali Sakin, who was detained after the incident, was taken to the Bursa Public Security Branch Directorate's Homicide Bureau. The suspect father-in-law was referred to the courthouse following his interrogation.

COMMITTED MURDER IN A TRAFFIC DISPUTE 11 YEARS AGO

34-year-old Kadir Morkoç, who lost his life to bullets fired by his father-in-law, had entered into a dispute with another driver on May 6, 2012, while driving with his older brother and another friend, after failing to yield in traffic. During the ensuing fight, they began arguing with the driver of the other vehicle, Haşim Savaş. When his sons, 29-year-old Ferhat and Batuhan Savaş, who were in the vehicle, got out, a fight broke out between the two groups. The individuals, who pulled out knives, stabbed the father and his 2 sons. 29-year-old Ferhat Savaş, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life. 

It was learned that after the murder, Kadir Morkoç, who was on leave from his military service at the time, his brother, and his friend were arrested and sent to prison.
