Former referee Elif Karaarslan, who was detained as part of a "drug" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting celebrities, had been arrested by the court.
During the investigation process, Karaarslan made a statement clarifying that the subscription system she used on Instagram was a paid feature offered by the platform, and stated that the content she shared there belonged entirely to her personal life.
Defending that her posts did not have the intent of obscenity, Karaarslan stated that the subscription system was an application that users joined with their own consent and that the content was shared only with subscribers.
Karaarslan, who was released the other day, made a post on her social media account following her release. In her post, the former referee used the phrase, "May God not let anyone fall into such a situation."
