Arrow attack in front of Israeli Embassy
An arrow attack was carried out against a police officer tasked with guarding the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade. The officer, who was wounded in the neck, shot and killed the attacker.
An attacker who arrived in front of the Israeli Embassy in Serbia targeted a police officer tasked with guarding the embassy with an arrow. The Serbian police officer was wounded in the neck by the arrow fired by the attacker. The wounded officer opened fire with his weapon and killed the attacker.
Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic stated in a statement following the attack that the officer is in the hospital and conscious, and that he will undergo surgery to remove the arrow from his neck. Emphasizing that an investigation into the attack has been launched, Minister Dacic reported that the officer fired his weapon in self-defense.
It was learned that the embassy was closed today and there were no employees inside.
TERRORIST ATTACK ATTEMPT
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a "terrorist attack attempt." The statement said, "Today, a terrorist attack attempt was carried out at the Israeli embassy in Belgrade. A local police officer was wounded. All aspects of the incident are being investigated."
