Arsenal found in home of brother-in-law who shot two siblings over inheritance

In the İlkadım district of Samsun, a man who shot and wounded two brothers over an inheritance dispute and was found to have a large number of weapons and ammunition in his home has been arrested. The incident took place in the Cedit neighborhood.

DISPUTE THAT STARTED WITH A STARE-DOWN TURNED INTO AN ARMED ATTACK

According to the information obtained, brothers Fatih Ç. (38) and Sultan Ahmet Ç. (36), who live in Germany, were preparing to return to Germany after packing their suitcases in Samsun, where they had come for a vacation.

The brothers encountered their aunt's husband, Mutlu İ. (49), at the entrance of the apartment building and began arguing with him due to an ongoing feud over an inheritance issue. As the argument escalated, Mutlu İ. shot the two brothers in the legs with a handgun he was carrying. The wounded brothers were taken to Samsun Training and Research Hospital by ambulance.

ARSENAL SEIZED IN HIS HOME

Following the incident, Mutlu İ. was taken into custody, and a search of his home and attic revealed what was essentially an arsenal. Police teams seized 1 hand grenade, 3 unlicensed handguns, 2 blank-firing pistols, 7 rifles, 965 bullets, 380 cartridges, 10 knives, and 1 pair of brass knuckles.

Legal proceedings were also initiated against Mutlu İ. for "Violation of Law No. 6136" and "Unauthorized Possession of Dangerous Substances."

ARRESTED

After being processed by the police, Mutlu İ. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the duty magistrate on charges of "armed assault" and "unauthorized possession of dangerous substances" and sent to prison.
