His article targeting Okan Buruk had caused a stir: Yeni Şafak columnist Tamer Korkmaz has been dismissed

The repercussions of the Galatasaray - Fenerbahçe derby, which had been anticipated for weeks in the Süper Lig and ended in a goalless draw, continue.

Galatasaray Manager Okan Buruk, in the press conference held after the match, had used the expression 'He is famous for crying, let him continue to cry' regarding Fenerbahçe Manager Jose Mourinho.

Tamer Korkmaz, a columnist for the pro-government newspaper Yeni Şafak, penned an article targeting Okan Buruk following the derby.

In his article titled “The parsley doner in the Parallel Menu”, Korkmaz asked whether Buruk had met with Hakan Şükür, a fugitive of the terrorist organization FETÖ, during the Malmö match.

Korkmaz also addressed Okan Buruk's remarks about Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho, stating, "Buruk is confusing the famous Portuguese football coach with the 'snotty fake hodja' who croaked in Pennsylvania! Because Buruk once sat at the feet of Hakan Şükür and his 'Crying Hodja', he has confused the crying hodjas!"

Galatasaray fans reacted to Korkmaz's article, which became a major topic of discussion. Following the backlash, Yeni Şafak newspaper terminated Tamer Korkmaz's employment contract and removed the relevant column from its website.
