Arzu Çerkezoğlu re-elected as president at DİSK's 17th General Assembly

Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DİSK) President Arzu Çerkezoğlu has been re-elected as president at the general assembly.

The vote for the presidency took place on the third day of the DİSK 17th General Assembly, held at a hotel in Pendik. In the voting that began at 10:00, it was announced that Çerkezoğlu, having received 244 votes from 300 delegates, was re-elected as president.

Accepting congratulations, Arzu Çerkezoğlu thanked those who contributed to the realization of the general assembly and the presidential election, as well as the delegates who participated in the vote.

Stating that they would continue their work with the same determination following the general assembly, Çerkezoğlu said, "We are marching to bring DİSK together with all our brothers and sisters who are waiting to meet with DİSK in every corner of Turkey, from east to west, from south to north, in all lines of work. We are marching for our fair share of the value we produce, for justice in income, for justice in taxation, for our trade union rights, for our right to strike, and for our right to collective bargaining."

Çerkezoğlu presented a plaque to Adnan Serdaroğlu, who served as DİSK General Secretary and will be leaving the administration in the coming term. The DİSK 17th General Assembly concluded with the determination of the president and the members of the board of directors.
