Asset freeze decision for two ISIS and Al-Qaeda members lifted

The decision regarding the freezing of assets of two individuals stated to be linked to the ISIS and Al-Qaeda terrorist organizations in Turkey has been published in the Official Gazette and revoked. The decision was announced as a Presidential Decree.

According to the content of the decision, in line with the resolutions adopted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), two names have been removed from the list of individuals and organizations whose assets are frozen in Turkey. The provisions concerning the individuals named "Abu Mohammed Al-Jawlani and Anas Hasan Khattab," which were included in the section titled "Natural Persons Linked to ISIL and Al-Qaeda" in the annex to the Council of Ministers decision dated September 30, 2013, have been canceled.

NEW DECISION ENTERED INTO FORCE

The decision in question was published in the Official Gazette, announcing that the asset freeze provision on the aforementioned individuals in Turkey has been lifted.

DETAILS OF THE DECISION

The provisions for freezing the assets of individuals associated with the ISIS and Al-Qaeda terrorist organizations, which were included in the list annexed to the Council of Ministers decision published on September 30, 2013, will no longer be valid. The asset freeze process on the relevant individuals has ended with the Presidential Decree.

The decision published in the Official Gazette announced that the provisions regarding the freezing process have been lifted and the practice concerning the assets belonging to these individuals has been terminated.
