Assets of 'pro-government' foundation to be transferred to TÜRGEV: 'In case of closure...'

The establishment deed of the Istanbul-based Turkey Mediation Foundation has been published in the Official Gazette.

The foundation was established by the decision of the Istanbul Anatolian 4th Civil Court of First Instance dated July 24, 2024. It was stated that the foundation's assets amount to 120 thousand TL.

According to the report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün; it was reported that the foundation, established by Abdurrahman Alp Beyaz and Pınar Nur Yalçın Özel, will work on mediation practices used in judicial disputes. The following statements were used in the foundation's establishment deed regarding its purpose:

“To file lawsuits in the face of legal problems in all areas, primarily commercial, ethnic, political, sports, and family disputes that could be subject to litigation, by effectively implementing alternative dispute resolution methods in Turkey. To improve the effectiveness of justice by ensuring the reduction of costs and time required for the resolution of legal problems through alternative dispute resolution methods as a result of negotiations held without court and litigation, and to realize other purposes specified in the foundation deed.”

It was learned that one of the foundation's founders, Abdurrahman Beyaz, served as a deputy mayor in the AKP-run Üsküdar Municipality for a period and took part in the trustee management of the Akasya Group of Companies, which was taken over from the Gülen movement.

On the other hand, it was reported that Beyaz is a graduate of Kartal Imam Hatip High School, which is also the alma mater of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's son, Bilal Erdoğan.

It was determined that Pınar Özel, the other founder of the company along with Beyaz, also served on the board of trustees. It was stated that Özel was the lawyer for the board of trustees formed for the company belonging to Faruk Güllüoğlu, which was seized by the TMSF after the July 15 Coup Attempt.

ASSETS TO BE TRANSFERRED TO TÜRGEV

The decision that the assets of the Turkey Mediation Foundation will be transferred to TÜRGEV in the event of the foundation's closure was also included in the foundation's establishment deed.
