Atatürkist Thought Association files criminal complaint against Kurtulmuş over Kurdish speech
The Atatürkist Thought Association (ADD) has filed a criminal complaint regarding Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş's use of Kurdish phrases during his speech at the Dicle University academic year opening ceremony and the subsequent sharing of this speech on the official social media accounts of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
The criminal complaint petition prepared by the ADD against Kurtulmuş for the alleged crimes of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility," "misconduct in office," "insulting the Turkish nation, the Republic of Turkey, and the state's institutions and bodies," and "violating the Constitution" was submitted to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
The petition requested that a public lawsuit be filed against Kurtulmuş.
