Attack on DEM Party district office
In İnegöl, Bursa, unidentified person or persons attacked the DEM Party district office with an axe. While the building sustained material damage, the DEM Party announced that they would file a criminal complaint regarding the incident.
An axe attack was carried out on the DEM Party's district office in the İnegöl district of Bursa. The perpetrators of the attack, which took place around 21:30, have not yet been identified.
According to the report by Gazete Duvar, DEM Party Bursa Provincial Co-Chair Mehmet Deniz Büyük announced that they would file a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office to uncover the person or persons who carried out the attack.
DEM Party Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayoral candidate İhsan Seylan also condemned the attack.
"WE WILL NOT GIVE WAY TO THOSE TRYING TO SABOTAGE OUR WORK"
In a statement made after the attack, Seylan said, "This is an attack not only on the DEM Party but on democracy," and added the following:
"We will not give way to those trying to sabotage our election campaign. We will win. Our strong third-way discourse will win. The efforts of those competing with us in politics today to hide behind others instead of using fair and democratic means are in vain. We are present in all districts of Bursa and in the metropolitan area. An attack on the will of the people is also an attack on democracy and human rights."
