Attacker who killed police officer in Büyükçekmece arrested
Muhammet Berke Çorak, who shot and killed police officer Cihat Ermiş in Büyükçekmece, has been arrested by the court to which he was referred.
Police officer Cihat Ermiş, who went to an apartment in the Muratçeşme neighborhood of Büyükçekmece following a report of a suspicious individual, was fired upon from inside.
Ermiş, who was critically wounded in the armed attack, was pronounced dead at the hospital where he was taken.
The suspect, Muhammet Berke Çorak, who was apprehended and taken into custody by police teams, was arrested by the judicial authorities to which he was referred.
