Attention those getting a driver's license: A major price hike is on the way

Driver's license fees, which must be paid by driver candidates who want to obtain a license or those considering renewing theirs, will increase as of 2025 based on the revaluation rate. 

If the President does not exercise his authority over the revaluation rate (YDO), which will be determined in November, the Class B license fee will exceed 5 thousand 720 liras.

Following the major 58.46 percent hike at the beginning of the year for the license fee paid before applying for a license, a 45 percent hike may come this year as well.

According to data presented in recent weeks by Tax Expert Dr. Ozan Bingöl, the revaluation rate to be announced in November could reach around 45 percent.

If the President does not exercise his authority regarding the revaluation rate, driver's license fees will increase by 45 percent in 2025.

Even if the inflation rates for September and October, which will definitively determine the YDO, were to come in at "zero," the YDO would still exceed 45 percent. 

Domestic Producer Price Index (Yİ-ÜFE) increases are expected to be at the 3 percent level on average over the next two months. According to this scenario, the 2024 revaluation rate will be at the 45 percent level with a simple calculation.

INCREASING ACCORDING TO THE REVALUATION RATE

The 2025 driver's license fees are expected to be based on the YDO to be announced in November, but if the YDO is announced as 45 percent, the prices will be as follows:

Class B Driver's License Fee:

2024 Amount: 3,945.40 TL

Amount Increased with 2025 YDO: 5,720.80 TL

A, A1, A2 (Including disabled "A" certificates) Driver's License Fee:

2024 Amount: 1,308.40 TL

Amount Increased with 2025 YDO: 1,896 TL

B1, BE, C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D, DE, G, M Driver's License Fee:

2024 Amount: 6,583.50 TL

Amount Increased with 2025 YDO: 9,545 TL
