Austerity falls flat: Massive spending by Diyanet for TV channel!

The Presidency of Religious Affairs has purchased 41 million 450 thousand TL worth of equipment to strengthen the broadcast infrastructure of Diyanet TV. This expenditure has once again brought the institution's history of high-budget spending to the agenda.

According to a report by Birgün, following a tender held by the General Directorate of Management Services of the Presidency of Religious Affairs on September 8, 2025, a single company submitted a bid for the "Diyanet TV Broadcast Automation Disk-Based Recording Archive Production and Broadcast Systems." On October 8, the tender commission signed a contract worth 41 million 450 thousand TL with Teratek Elektronik Sistemler Danışmanlık Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi.

Within the scope of the project, new equipment will be installed in Diyanet TV studios, and the cabling and software installations for this equipment will be carried out by the contractor firm. It was also stated that training will be provided to Diyanet TV personnel on the use of the new system.

TV CHANNEL EXPENDITURES CONTINUE TO RISE

The equipment expenditures made by Diyanet TV in recent years to improve its broadcast quality are noteworthy. It was recorded that 41.4 million TL was spent in 2025, 42.1 million TL in 2024, and 13.4 million TL in 2023.

Thus, it has emerged that a total of approximately 97 million TL has been spent on Diyanet TV's broadcast infrastructure and equipment procurement over the last three years.
