Austerity measures had been issued: Turkish Parliament to rent 113 luxury vehicles at once!
Despite the Circular on Austerity Measures, the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) has opened a tender for vehicle rentals, including luxury cars. The vehicles, to be rented for three years, will be brand new, with 57 of them having 1900cc engines, and all being 2023 models or newer. A total of 113 vehicles will be rented.
The TBMM Department of Support Services announced on November 8, 2023, that it would be renting vehicles without drivers by holding a tender. The specifications of the vehicles were published on the Electronic Public Procurement Platform (EKAP).
According to the report in Sözcü, the vehicles will be 2023 model, brand new, sedan, black, with 200 hp or higher engine power, diesel, diesel-electric, gasoline, or gasoline-electric engines, automatic transmission, and equipped with air conditioning, driver and passenger airbags, ABS, cruise control, original navigation, trip computer, and front and rear parking sensors.
In addition, 5 brand new 2023 model or newer 8+1 black minibuses and one 4+1 brand new minibus will be rented. The rental specifications stated that the vehicles would be used for 'official TBMM services, and for the transportation of foreign parliamentary speakers and their accompanying delegations and diplomatic guests visiting the TBMM.'
