Aysel Öymen, who passed away at the age of 91, was buried today at Zincirlikuyu in Istanbul. Aysel Öymen had served as Turkey's first female General Director of the Treasury.
Aysel Öymen, who passed away yesterday at the age of 91 in the hospital where she was receiving treatment, has been laid to rest. The funeral of Aysel Öymen, wife of former CHP Chairman and journalist-author Altan Öymen, was held at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
CONDOLENCES WERE ACCEPTED
A funeral ceremony was held at Teşvikiye Mosque in Şişli for Aysel Öymen, who served as Turkey's first female General Director of the Treasury. At the funeral, Altan Öymen and his daughter Aslı Öymen accepted condolences.
In addition to Aysel Öymen's relatives, the ceremony was attended by numerous figures from the worlds of media, art, and business, as well as politicians including CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, and former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
