Esad en-Nevaciha, one of the doctors in the neonatal unit at Nasser Hospital in Gaza, said, "We are facing another tragic human story resulting from Israel's bombardments in the Gaza Strip."

Stating that a pregnant woman named Ranim Hicazi was brought to Nasser Hospital dead this morning, Nevaciha said, "The fetus was removed from the mother's womb by medical staff and was found to be alive. We immediately took charge, resuscitated the baby, and did what was necessary. The baby is currently in an incubator on oxygen."

Doctor Nevaciha stated that the baby's health condition is stable.

Explaining that the mother had gone to Khan Yunis in the south of Gaza City to protect herself from Israeli bombardment, Nevaciha noted that she was killed in an Israeli strike that targeted the El-Abadile family.

Israel had called on those living in the northern Gaza Strip to move south, claiming it was "safe," but Israeli warplanes continue to target numerous homes in the south as well.
