Back-to-back earthquakes in Gümüşhane and Erzincan

According to information released by AFAD, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane at 23:23.

The depth of the earthquake was measured at 15.68 kilometers.

GÜMÜŞHANE GOVERNOR ISSUES STATEMENT

Gümüşhane Governor Alper Tanrısever reported that they had not received any reports of negative incidents following the 4.1-magnitude earthquake in the Kelkit district.

In a post on his social media account, Tanrısever stated, "We have not received any reports of negative incidents regarding the 4.1-magnitude earthquake that occurred at 23:23, centered in the Cemallı village of our Kelkit district. Field scanning activities are being conducted by authorized personnel. Best wishes to all our fellow citizens."

Meanwhile, a 4.3-magnitude tremor with its epicenter in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane had been recorded on December 18 at 01:15.

ERZİNCAN ALSO SHOOK

Following the 4.1-magnitude tremor in Gümüşhane, a 3.7-magnitude earthquake occurred in the center of Erzincan at 23:28.
