Following controversial remarks made by Beşiktaş Anadolu High School Assistant Principal Barış Arslan toward a student, alumni gathered in front of the school to show solidarity with the students. As the backlash grows, the school administration has announced that events may be canceled.
The backlash against Beşiktaş Anadolu High School assistant principal Barış Arslan is growing. Alumni gathered in front of the school to protest Barış Arslan, who yesterday told a student, "You know you are still in this school only because the school pities you, so you don't end up on the street, right?"
According to a report in BirGün, the alumni stated that they stand in solidarity with the students and chanted, "The alumni are here, where is the principal?"

The school administration stated that if the protests do not end, organized events will be canceled. Stating that they would cancel the "entrepreneurship" event scheduled for next week, the administration noted that payments for the event had already been made and that if it were canceled, the students would have to cover the losses.
