Backlash in Parliament against 3 figures close to Erdoğan: Even an AKP member couldn't take it!

The failure of Diyanet Affairs President Ali Erbaş, MIT President İbrahim Kalın, and Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun to attend the TBMM Plan and Budget Commission meeting, where the presidential budget was being discussed despite being invited, caused a controversy.

This situation, which occurred during the session chaired by Commission Chairman Mehmet Muş of the AKP, was met with harsh criticism from the opposition benches.

OPPOSITION REACTS TO FIGURES NOT PRESENT IN THE HALL

CHP Malatya MP Veli Ağbaba, in his speech regarding the figures who did not attend the meeting, stated, "The Vice President is here, our NSC Secretary General is here, but some do not deign to come to Parliament. Why are they not here? Do these individuals not take the TBMM seriously?"

IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman Erhan Usta also drew attention to the same point, reacting with the words, "Isn't this disrespectful to the Vice President as much as it is to us?"

The meeting's chairman, AKP's Mehmet Muş, stated that he agreed with the opposition's criticisms and expressed his discomfort that the high-level figures invited did not attend the meeting.

Addressing Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Muş made the following assessment:

"Our Vice President is here; we sent the invitation to the relevant institutions regarding this matter. This issue was also on the agenda during the previous budget. Parliament has its dignity, it has its sensitivities, and these individuals should also be sensitive."
