Bahadır Dinçaslan detained during protests in Ankara
Following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Nationalist Congress Association Chairman Bahadırhan Dinçaslan was also detained during protests held across Turkey. It has been alleged that Dinçaslan was beaten during the detention process.
Hundreds of thousands of people reacting to the detention of İmamoğlu gathered in Saraçhane, Istanbul, while protest demonstrations were also held in many cities across Turkey, primarily in Ankara and İzmir. While it was alleged that security forces intervened harshly in the actions, it was reported that many people were detained. Among those detained during the demonstrations in Ankara was Nationalist Congress Association Chairman Bahadırhan Dinçaslan.
While authorities have not yet made an official statement regarding Dinçaslan's health status and the detention process, eyewitnesses stated that the intervention by security forces was disproportionate.
