Bahçeli calls for a 'Jerusalem Pact': 'Starting with Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt...'

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli released a written statement regarding Jerusalem on his party's official website.

"If things continue this way, if the brutality does not stop, and if categorical attacks on faith and human rights persistently continue, either a global or a regional war will emerge as the final option," the MHP leader stated, proposing the establishment of a Jerusalem Pact through the initiative of regional countries, primarily Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt.

'JERUSALEM IS A CITY OF BROTHERHOOD WHERE PEOPLE LIVE SIDE BY SIDE IN PEACE'

Emphasizing that "Jerusalem means history," Bahçeli made the following remarks:

Jerusalem is also a city of peace and brotherhood where religions, cultures, and people from different backgrounds have lived intertwined, side by side, in peace and tranquility for centuries. Jerusalem is the pride of a historical heritage where many prophets, from Prophet Adam to Prophet Muhammad, have set foot, where great civilizations have resided, and where kings, sultans, commanders, scholars, and people of heart have carved their names into every corner of its soil.

The heart of Jerusalem is the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the heart of the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the Foundation Stone. The golden-domed Dome of the Rock is the symbol of Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the first step and memory of our Prophet's miraculous ascension to the highest divine realms by the grace of Allah on the 27th night of the month of Rajab.

'JERUSALEM IS OUR FIRST QIBLA AND OUR COMMON DESTINY'

Jerusalem is the honor of our faith, the guardian of Islam, and the meeting point and embrace of religions, cultures, and civilizations. Jerusalem is the keystone of our sacred values and the eternal legacy of our rights of faith.

Jerusalem is our first Qibla and our common destiny. The Al-Aqsa Mosque is the blessed legacy of the Miracle of Isra and Mi'raj. Jerusalem is groaning under the oppression of tyrants and is spiritually crying out. The most virtuous places on earth are the mosques, and the most virtuous of the mosques are the Masjid al-Haram, the Masjid an-Nabawi, and the besieged, grief-stricken, and deeply scorched Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israel's massacres and attacks on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, continue unabated. US-backed Israel continues its attacks, which have turned into genocide and a humanitarian tragedy.

'TURKEY WILL BE ABLE TO LEAD THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A 'JERUSALEM PACT''

While thousands of babies, children, women, and the elderly are being brutally martyred, neither the world nor Islamic countries have been able to take a decisive initiative to prevent the genocide. Israeli terror is at a limit that is impossible to bear, remove, or digest.

Therefore, there is a need for a step that will make peace, stability, economic development, sharing, and solidarity possible in this troubled geography. Turkey will be able to lead the establishment of a "Jerusalem Pact" that will make it possible for the region to become a "belt of peace."

Because it is vitally important for the future of the region that regional countries take all initiative into their own hands and are able to solve regional problems through solidarity and cooperation.

'IT WILL BE A HISTORIC STEP THAT CHANGES THE REGION'S FORTUNE'

It is an urgent need to immediately end the chaos-producing structure of this region and transform it into a structure that exports prosperity and stability to the world.

We believe that this initiative will find a response in the relevant countries and will be a historic step that changes the ill-fated fortune of Gaza, Jerusalem, and the region.
