Bahçeli reiterates his call, move comes from Öcalan's family
It has been learned that the family of terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan has filed an application with the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the İmralı Prison Directorate to request a meeting.
Following the call made by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli to Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, it was revealed that DEM Party Şanlıurfa MP Ömer Öcalan had gone to İmralı to meet with Öcalan.
Ömer Öcalan reported that during the meeting, which was the first to take place in 43 months, terrorist leader Öcalan said regarding Bahçeli's call: "If the conditions are met, I have the theoretical and practical power to move this process from a ground of conflict and violence to a legal and political ground."
The Ministry of Justice, for its part, stated that the meeting was 'conducted within the scope of a family visit'.
MEETING REQUEST FROM ÖCALAN'S FAMILY
While MHP leader Bahçeli reiterated his call regarding Öcalan at his party's latest group meeting, it has been learned that the Öcalan family has submitted a request for a meeting.
As reported by Birgün, Öcalan's brother Mehmet Öcalan and his legal guardian Mazlum Dinç have filed an application with the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the İmralı Prison Directorate to request a meeting with Öcalan.
