Bahçeli to female journalist: With such perverse and wrong questions...
Responding to questions after his party's Central Executive Board and Central Disciplinary Board meeting, Bahçeli used very harsh language regarding a 'death penalty question' asked by a female journalist.
MHP Chairman Bahçeli reacted to a question from Lider Haber reporter Pelin Zengin, who asked, "Do you have any intention of bringing the death penalty to the agenda in the new term constitutional efforts?" while referencing Narin, who was murdered in Diyarbakır, and baby Sıla, who was beaten and sexually abused.
Responding to questions after the MHP's Central Executive Board and Central Disciplinary Board meeting, Bahçeli lashed out at the reporter who asked the 'death penalty question' with the following words:
"It is understood that you are not carefully following the issues regarding the formation of the Constitution. If it is among our proposals and is adopted by other political thoughts and organizations, why not? We should think about what consensus we should reach to achieve a new constitution if it is to happen.
Do not be eager to deceive with such perverse and wrong questions. The Turkish nation no longer has any side to be offended by this, but rather sides to be ashamed of."
