Bank Asya shareholder arrested in FETÖ operation
In an operation targeting the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ/PDY) conducted across 7 provinces centered in Istanbul, 6 people, including Erdal Babadağ, one of the A-group shareholders of Bank Asya, were arrested.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch had detained 12 people within the scope of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into FETÖ/PDY.
The suspects, who were taken into custody during simultaneous operations in 7 provinces, were transferred to Istanbul. Following their processing at the Istanbul Provincial Police Department, the 12 suspects were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace after their statements were taken by the prosecutor's office.
Among the suspects, Erdal İdrak Babadağ, one of the Bank Asya group shareholders, along with Ekrem Ç., İbrahim E., Orhan A., Sıddık A., and Selami K., were arrested and sent to prison.
Ahmet A., Ayhan K., Ahmet Ramazan B., Osman Uğur B., Fatma A., and Yaman Y. were released under judicial control conditions.
