Bar association lawyer attends İmamoğlu's detention review
The detention status of CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was evaluated by a bar association lawyer during a review session that his own defense attorneys did not attend.
The detention status of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Republican People's Party (CHP) presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was addressed during a monthly review held today.
However, İmamoğlu's lawyers notified the court that they would not be attending this review.
Following this development, the court requested the appointment of a lawyer from the Istanbul Bar Association.
The review was completed with the participation of the lawyer appointed by the bar association.
As a result of this evaluation, which İmamoğlu did not attend in person, the court sent a letter to the prosecutor's office officially stating that the defendant's lawyers did not participate in the hearing.
The details of the decision reached by the court regarding İmamoğlu's detention status have not yet been disclosed to the public.
