Barack Obama's comment on Joe Biden: He was a dear friend to me
Former US President Barack Obama released a statement following the withdrawal of Biden, his vice president during his presidency, from the election race. In his statement, Obama did not mention Kamala Harris, whom Biden had endorsed.
The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, released a statement after Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential election to be held on November 5.
In the message he shared on his social media account, Obama said of Biden, who was his vice president during his presidency: "Joe Biden has been one of America’s most consequential presidents, as well as a dear friend and partner to me. Today, we have also been reminded—again—that he’s a patriot of the highest order."
In his message, Barack Obama spoke highly of the Biden administration, stating, "We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges."
Obama did not mention Kamala Harris, whom Biden had endorsed as his successor.
